The central project (CP1) encompasses the scientific coordination and administrative organization of the Clinical Research Unit, rotational positions for physician scientists (Gerok positions), measures for gender and family support, as well as the educational program. It is the distinct goal of this CRU to translate basic science into clinical applications in diagnostics and therapy of glomerular diseases, in particular FSGS and MCD. Therefore, it is very important to promote the interaction between scientists from the natural sciences and physician scientists. To engage young physicians into basic research we will create rotational positions. Moreover, CP1 will organize the annual meeting on glomerular biology and all measures regarding public relations.
